Nathan “Jim Crow” Robinson (1890-1976) was a guitarist and jazz trombonist from Plaquemines parish. He learned how to play trombone in 1917 while serving with the Army in France during World War I, and performed and recorded with Sam Morgan’s Jazz Band in the 1920s, with Bunk Johnson in the 1940s, with George Lewis in the 1950s, and with Preservation Hall Jazz Band in the 1960s and 70s.
