Isidore Barbarin

The father of Paul, Louis, Lucien, and Willie Barbarin (all musicians) and the grandfather of Danny Barker, Isidore John Barbarin (1872-1960) was an Afro-French Creole cornetist and alto horn player affiliated with the Onward Brass Band, as well as the Excelsior and Tuxedo Brass Bands. He recorded with Bunk Johnson in 1945 and again in 1946 as a member of the Original Zenith Brass Band.
