Dolly Adams

1904 – 1979


Dolly Douroux Adams (1904-1979) was born in Algiers, Louisiana, and came from a musical family (her maternal uncle was Manuel Manetta). She was a noted jazz pianist and multi-instrumentalist from the 1920s through the 1960s and was the mother of jazz musicians Placide, Justin, and Jerry Adams, who played in her family band.
